On and around the camp-site is enough to do for young and old. We have listed some activities for you.
You are now in one of the most famous wine regions in the world. If you love wine then you must visit the many wine chateux to sample the local wine. We can organise visits with English translations for larger parties.
The campsite is situated in an undulating area that leads to flat marsh areas of the Gironde. Hundreds of paths and quiet roads make this area terrific for cycling. Several tourist information centres in the area provide cycle route maps! The routes take you through wooded areas, pastures with innumerable types of birds, along the Gironde or between the wine fields. In short, nature at its best. For lovers of mountain biking there is a trail of no less than 40 km behind the campsite.
Bring your own boat! There is a slipway 5km from the campsite and the Gironde offers several water sport possibilties including sailing, fishing and water skiing. At Royan you will find rental companies and water sport school’s. You can hire a canoe or a sail boat or even learn to windsurf or kitesurf.
On the other side of the Gironde at the Carcan and Lacanou lakes you can rent a catamaran and at the Atlantic beachs there are an abundance of wave surfing possibilities.

Zoo de la Palmyre
In 1966, Claude CAILLÉ’s dream became reality. He gathered more than 1500 animals from all continents, and thanks to his imagination turned a forest into a jungle. Thanks to a lot of perseverance, work and enthusiasm the zoo has become an important centre annually receiving more than 800,000 visitors. The zoo is approximately 15 km from Royan.
