Our campsite near Blaye

A campsite rooted in sustainable development

Our campsite near Blaye is committed to sustainable development. That's why we do everything we can to make our campsite greener, by limiting our impact on the environment and controlling water and energy consumption responsibly. Wherever possible, we work with local producers, promoting short supply chains.

The campsite also offers nature-related activities, ideal for recharging your batteries. The campsite has held the CLEF VERTE label since 2012 and has been a member of Via Natura since 2019. Each year, we update an action plan that enables us to progress in our environmental approach.

Domestic hot water is largely produced by circulating fluid solar panels. The hot water produced is stored in a large tank to supply the campsite's sanitary facilities. We ask our customers to help us in this process by taking their showers, if possible, when the sun is still shining. This avoids the need for a gas boiler.

The vast majority of faucets are of the "push-button" type to limit water flow time, and all are equipped with flow limiters (3l/min for washbasins and 8l/min for showers).

We have a 7,000-liter tank for pool water recovery. The water first passes through a tank to remove the chlorine, then flows by gravity down into the storage tank. This enables us to water the campsite's plants and trees.

All lighting is fitted with LED lamps, and timers have been installed in common areas. Lighting on the campsite is kept to a minimum to limit night-time pollution and promote biodiversity.

One composter is available for daily composting. On the other hand, we have a much larger one for composting all the vegetation used for grounds maintenance. We put in leaves, hedge trimmings, the grass we pull up from the driveways, and anything else that can be composted. All this material is recovered by a farmer every 5 years or so to fertilize the fields of Charente-Maritime, replacing chemical fertilizers.

Since 2012, no pesticides or chemical fertilizers have been used on our campsite. When we plant a tree or a plant, we give preference to local species that require little water.

We pay close attention to flora and fauna. To this end, we store dead wood in the same place to encourage the multiplicity of insects, and we leave areas uncultivated. Our hedges are not pruned from March to August to avoid disturbing bird reproduction.
